Children's Activity Tent Schedule

All Day!

Kunta Kinte's childhood in Juffure in the Gambia was rich with cultural
activity. Visit the children's tent at the festival to enjoy crafting
traditional items to take home:

  • Make a Shekere--a West African music instrument--with bottle caps

  • Use colorful magazine pages to craft a bead necklace

  • Assemble a mancala game set from an egg carton

  • Decorate a spirit mask to express your creativity
