    A: The KuntaKinte Festival is held rain or shine! We are committed to ensuring that attendees have a memorable experience regardless of the weather. However, in the case of severe weather conditions that might compromise the safety of our guests, the festival will be rescheduled to Saturday, September 20th.     A: No, tickets are not required and admission to the kuntakintefestival is free. We invite everyone to join us and experience the festivities without any cost. Specifically, pets must be on a leash at all times and remain under the control of their owners. Additionally, pet owners are expected to clean up after their pets to ensure a pleasant and hygienic environment for all attendees. We recommend bringing water and any other necessities your pet may need to stay comfortable throughout the event.

    There will be around 200 vendors including arts and crafts, food, and community/education vendors, along with a children's activity tent!
  • Q: Are attendees allowed to bring their own coolers to the Kunta Kinte Festival?
    A: No, coolers are not permitted at the Kunta Kinte Festival. This policy helps us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees. However, you can purchase a variety of soft drinks and other beverages from any of our Food/Beverage Vendors located throughout the festival grounds. We aim to provide a wide selection of refreshments to ensure everyone can find something to enjoy while celebrating.
  • How many people attend the festival?
    Over 10,000 people attended the festival in 2023. We are planning for a bigger, better festival each year. In addition to tour buses from out of state that travel specifically to the festival, the festival is also an annual tradition for many Annapolitans.
  • Where will vendors be stationed in relation to the main stage & entrance?
    Proximity to the main stage and entrance can depend on electricity needs and turning in applications early (first come, first serve).
  • What are the setup and breakdown procedures?
    Vendors will receive setup and breakdown procedures, once accepted and paid in full, in the weeks prior to the festival. There will also be a virtual vendor orientation scheduled.
