KKHF 2026 is held rain or shine! We are committed to ensuring that attendees have a memorable experience regardless of the weather. However, in the case of severe weather conditions that might compromise the safety of our guests, the festival will be rescheduled. Fortunately...The weather looks to be a nice day.
While there will be some seating provided at the community stage, availability is not guaranteed. For the Main stage, bringing your own lawn chair or portable seat is highly suggested. Visitors are also welcome to bring umbrellas for shade, but please note that tents are not allowed. This arrangement helps ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during the festival.
Yes! The festival provides handicap accessible portable restrooms and there are handicap parking spaces near the festival entrance. However there is no guarantee these spaces will be open due to the number of festival attendees. For accommodation requests, please contact us at kuntakintecelebrations@gmail.com .
Yes, pets are welcome to join the Kunta Kinte Festival! However, all pet owners must adhere to Annapolis city, Anne Arundel County, and Maryland state animal leash laws. Specifically, pets must be on a leash at all times and remain under the control of their owners. Additionally, pet owners are expected to clean up after their pets to ensure a pleasant and hygienic environment for all attendees. We recommend bringing water and any other necessities your pet may need to stay comfortable throughout the event.
At the KKHF, we are committed to creating a family-friendly and safe environment for all attendees. As part of this commitment, no alcohol or drug use is permitted on the festival grounds. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy in place to ensure everyone's well-being and enjoyment. Security personnel will be present to enforce this rule and to assist with any issues that may arise. No outside food is permitted on the lot at the KKHF. This policy allows us to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Whether you're looking for traditional African cuisine or modern culinary delights, our vendors are sure to have something that satisfies your palate. No, coolers are not permitted at the KKHF. This policy helps us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees. However, you can purchase a variety of soft drinks and other beverages from any of our Food & Beverage Vendors located throughout the festival grounds. We aim to provide a wide selection of refreshments to ensure everyone can find something to enjoy while celebrating.
